Personal Profile

Li Rong, female, born October 1974, currently serves as Vice President of Peking University Third Hospital and Director of the Department of Reproductive Medicine. She concurrently holds positions as Chair-Elect of the Reproductive Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and Vice President of the Asia-Pacific Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASPIRE). She is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Dedicated to advancing clinical applications and fundamental research addressing declining female fertility, she investigates the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying endometrial function establishment, embryo implantation, and pregnancy maintenance. Her work has uncovered novel mechanisms by which reproductive endocrine disorders impact endometrial receptivity. Utilizing multidisciplinary cutting-edge technologies, she has identified key target molecules regulating endometrial receptivity, developed novel multi-level clinical approaches for improving and treating various endometrial disorders, optimized assisted reproductive technology strategies, and significantly enhanced clinical efficacy in treating female subfertility. As first or corresponding author (including co-authorship) published 126 SCI articles in top-tier international biomedical journals such as The Lancet, NEJM, Nature, Nature Genetics, and Human Reproduction, with 2,419 citations. Edited 13 monographs including the nationally key publication Diagnosis and Treatment of Reproductive Endocrine Disorders. She has secured 37 patents, with 15 achievements commercialized at a value of 10.5 million yuan. Contributed to two international reproductive guidelines and spearheaded 19 Chinese expert consensus statements and guidelines. Received three Second Prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, one Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award, one Second Prize of the Ministry of Education's Higher Education Science and Technology Progress Award, and one First Prize of the National Maternal and Child Health Science and Technology Progress Award.
