Personal Profile

Qiao Jie, female, born January 1964, is a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. She currently serves as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee at Peking University, Executive Vice President, Dean of the Health Science Center, and Director of the National Key Laboratory for Female Fertility Promotion. Professor Qiao Jie is a leading figure in reproductive medicine cultivated independently in China. Standing at the forefront of her discipline, she has persistently tackled challenges and long been dedicated to clinical, basic, and translational research related to obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive health. She has also maintained a focus on building public health systems for women and children, safeguarding their health throughout the entire life cycle. She leads her team in deciphering the molecular characteristics (including transcriptomes, epigenomes, and proteomes), genetic mechanisms, and developmental pathways of human germ cells at the molecular level, expanding our understanding of fertility maintenance. Addressing oocyte maturation disorders, her team has developed novel cryopreservation technologies and products that enhance follicle and oocyte survival rates, achieving clinical translation and increasing the proportion of domestically developed formulations in reproductive medicine. She published over 700 research findings as first or corresponding author (including co-authorship) in high-impact journals including Cell, Nature, Science, JAMA, and The Lancet.
